An Introduction to
Cabinetmaking
An Introduction to
Cabinetmaking
Cabinet making forms the basis of my
hand skills. This includes turning and
carving. With these skills I can restore
your furniture with the same
craftsmanship as was used originally.
If any component of a piece of furniture
has been lost, I can craft a new piece, fit it
into position and finish it so that the
repaired area is completely hidden. I have worked using both traditional and modern construction methods. This enables me to build new furniture as well as simply
restoring old pieces.

Conservation is important to me: I always
aim to retain and preserve as much of
the original material and patina as
possible. Your items will be
sympathetically restored, keeping all
evidence of the true age of the item, only adding new material when absolutely necessary. Learn more

I also undertake commissions for bespoke handmade items. Have an idea for a
piece but haven't seen it in the shops?
Talk to me and together we can come up
with something to suit you. Whether it's traditional or modern, elaborate or simple, freestanding or built-in, I can help you
choose the style and the wood and can
create and build a design that is uniquely yours.
